A xenoarchaeological dig site on Planet Pygar

Xenoarchaeology started out as a field of study into wether extraterrestrial beings influenced prehistoric human societies. However today it's formed into more of a sectorwide expedition into the recovery of artifacts long lost by the now extint species the Daam K'Vosh. Since their existence was veriefied after the Nomad War the demand for artifacts of their civilisation has skyrocketed. Everyone from government scientists to private collectors are now employing xenoarchaologists to send expeditions all over sirius and find remnants of the ancient culture. Although xeonoarchaeology has been sucked into the underground with the trafficing of illegal artifacts usually uncovered by Corsair or Outcast expeditions and sold on for arms funding.

Most leading minds in xenoarchaeology tend to go off the radar once they make themselves known. Usually swept away by one faction or another to give them an edge in the Artifact recovery and smuggling ventures that now many factions in the Omicrons have turned to. The Order has also been shunned by the colonial communities for being so openly involved in expeditions into the Edge Worlds to uncover more information as they continue their campaigns against the remnant population of Nomads. But The Order remains to be the leading faction in xenoarchaeology, frequently recruiting new minds, usually post graduate doctors or professors from the Cambridge Research Institute and New Tokyo Imperial University.
