Faction Infobox2 Variables
- name = Name of your faction.
- type = See below.
- affiliation = Used with the type variable. This will cause the longer versions of the Player Faction and Player Group templates. Enter the name of the NPC version of your faction without link brackets.
- image = The name of the image uploaded to the wiki for your faction logo.
- imgsz = This variable allows you to specify the size an image is displayed at (Example: 128px) and is best used to keep an image from being stretched and distorted. If no value is placed in this field the image will be sized to the default value of 264px.
- origin = See below.
- alignment = See below.
- founding_date = Date on the Discovery timeline when your faction was founded.
- dissolution_date = Date on the Discovery timeline when your faction was closed.
- leader = Name the character of your faction's leader. This can be a link.
- founder = Name the character of your faction's founder. This can be a link.
- primary_role = Tell us your faction's primary goal.
- secondary_role = Tell us your faction's secondary goal.
- base = Tell us where your faction has headquarters.
- base2 = Your secondary base of operations, like a forward command base close to the battlefront.
- primaryID = See below.
- secondaryID = See below.
- IFF = See below.
- tag = Show everyone your in game faction tag. If you use the "|" character then you need to surround your tag with <nowiki> and </nowiki> tags.
- recruitment = See below.
- toc = Choose to display the table of contents within the infobox.
"Alignment" can be one of these:
- LAWFUL
- UNLAWFUL
- QUASI-LEGAL
- CORPORATION
- INDEPENDENT
"Type" can be
- NPC - NPC faction
- GROUP - Unofficial Player Group
- OFFICIAL - Official Player Faction
- Leave this variable blank if you wish to use the long Player Group or Player Faction templates.
"Recruitment" can be
- CLOSED - will display "CLOSED"
- INVITE - will display "By invitation ONLY"
- A URL - will display "Click to join" linked to the address provided
- Leave blank - the recruitment line will not appear.
"Origin" can be:
- Use a House Link. example: "{{House Link | Rheinland}}" shows: Rheinland
- Just use the house name. example: "Rheinland" shows: Federal Republic of Rheinland
"PrimaryID" and "SecondaryID" are pretty self explanatory but there is a feature built into the secondaryID variable.
- primaryID - Primary ID used for the faction
- secondaryID - For those factions that use a secondary ID
- When the "type" variable is set to NPC then the template will display "Guard ID" instead of "Secondary ID" for NPC faction pages.
"IFF":
- Normally you would use a link to the NPC page related to your faction.
- On NPC faction pages you should simply enter what appears on NPC ships.
- Example: House police factions typically show as simply "Police".
"toc" can be:
- YES - display the Table of Contents for your page at the bottom of the infobox. (Anything in this variable will be seen as "YES".)
- leave blank - The Table of Contents will be displayed (or not) normally.
The "server" variable was removed because it was not used.
Most variables can be left blank when not used and they will not appear in the infobox. A few variables, like alignment, leader, and founder, will produce an "unknown" in the infobox.
