Toby Neptune - aka [NLH]Ocean is a member of the Natures' Last Hope Gaian group operating out of Islay Base in the Edinburgh System. He joined the Gaians after seeing first hand the devastation and destruction that humankind were able to wrought on the natural environments, first, on his native Planet Los Angeles in Liberty and then later, while he was backpacking througout Sirius, on Planet Gaia itself. Toby certainly doesnt lack motivation for the cause, however, he professes to have "philisophical" issues with rising early in the mornings and thus his patrol schedule is is erratic and haphazard at the best of times. A bold and sometimes reckless pilot, Toby has been known to throw his ship into encounters where he is vastly outnumbered and seems to have survived by pure chance alone.

Personal Bio

Toby was born on Planet Los Angeles in 785 A.S, the son of a well to do upper middle class family who's income allowed him to squander much of his early education and to become adept at avoiding real work or studying. The free ride ran out however when his father sent him off to a Spa and Cruise training seminar in order to sign him up for a tour on one of their cruise vessels as a steward. This was done in the hope that "some real work" might instill some values and discipline in the young man.

In fact, this succeeded spectacularly, though not in the manner his father intended, while unwillingly performing this job, Toby visted planet Gaia and was at once amazed at its breathtaking beauty and disturbed by the rampant disregard displayed by the Spa and Cruise company for the natural environment as they installed facilities for tourists. Returning home to Los Angeles, Toby was caught up in the "ALG cash for dumping" scandal where it was found the ALG corporation had been bribing local officials to turn a blind eye to their dumping of noxious pollutants into the ocean off the coast of one of Los Angeles more isolated townships, a place where it just so happened, Toby was known to surf. He best describes the change in his life that followed in his own words:

"I was like... surfing with some of my buds you know? like, waiting out the back of the set for a wave you know? I was feeling pretty like, messed up dude, 'cos i'd just come back from that Spa and Cruise (expletive deleted) and saw that they were like, totally screwing up that planet right? So im like... sitting there on my board dude, and then all of a sudden... this... stuff, i mean... stuff just totally floats by man, i mean like, we were sitting in it dude? and this was like, totally one of the best beaches in....... I totally lost it man, i mean i completely lost it, im like... usually pretty chilled you know? like, dont like to freak out? But man... that was it Dude, i was all like, something has to totally be done about this (expletive deleted)".

It was at that moment, that Toby Neptune the young man with a limited future ceased to be, and Toby Neptune,the environmental activist and extremist was born.
