The Thanatos class has been developed to fulfil the Colonial Republic's need for a sleek, but deadly vessel capable to carry out both, defensive and offensive operations. Based on an old Crayterian Cruiser model, the design remained similar to its ancestor, while most of the internal systems have been altered to fit the needs of an Republic on the upswing and its military.
