Avallon is a space fortress built by Gallic Royal Navy in 659 A.S.. It was a forerunner of Gallic Border Worlds exploration, providing stable basis for operations of Navy and Police in Burgundy and nearby systems. During the Second Gallic War, the installation played an important role in protecting the system both from the Council, and still guards against the numerous outlaws who plague Gallia's trade lanes.

Although the war is over, Avallon has continued to grow. Burgundy is under constant threat of Maquis attack, and with no true shipyards in the Grand Duchy's territory, there are plans in place to expand Avallon's facilities into a fullscale shipyard capable of maintaining multiple warships at once.
