Constructed inside a hollowed out asteroid within the Tau-23 system, Cali base was initially built in 734 A.S. as a small refuelling outpost for Outcast smugglers. It has been substantially upgraded over the years to become one of the most important forward bases for the Edge World pirates, particularly in light of the recent discovery, and breaching, of the minefield guarding the entrance into Gallia.
Fighting between the Outcasts and the Independent Miners Guild is prevalent throughout the system, and occasionally the IMG even attack Cali Base itself, although the Outcasts are always quick to launch reprisals against Java in return, and for the most part the fighting is restricted to ambushing the other side's transports than to huge space battles.
