Life

Early Life

Falk was born into the Hessian movement to his parents, Niklas and Anna. While growing up he learned about the Hessians’ cause, what they fought for, and gradually, going through school he began to realise where his place would be to help in the movement. He excelled in flight theory classes during his time as a younger child and in fighter basics when he was old enough to use the simulators and fly with an instructor in a training Odin class fighter.

Life outside of school for Falk was hard. It mostly consisted of chores, because both of his parents' work for the Hessian cause took them late in to the evening. Falk was the only one around to keep their living quarters clean as his parents would always come home tired from their work and often only had time to eat before falling asleep. The little free time that he did have was spent reading about the history of the Red Hessians and what the organisation stood for. His upbringing in a Hessian school meant he was a strong believer in the values of the cause, though maybe because he knew no others.

His detached relationship with his parents meant his relationship with his friends became extremely strong. These bonds were a major factor in his signing up to the Hessian Corps as many of his friends went too, which in his mind, he could never leave behind.

Life in the Army

At the age of 18, Falk gained his Rekrut rank upon acceptance into the Hessian corps. He was quick to gain his promotion to Flieger, but after his mother Anna fell ill he was forced to take time off so that he could care for her with his father. After a long battle with a terminal illness, Anna died at the age of 45. Left distraught, Falk continued his time away from the army to mourn for his mother another month. Upon his return to the army, he continued to work his way up the ranks, going from Flieger to Gefreiter to Leutnant in quick time due to achievements on the battle field, namely the assault on the Interspace Commerce convoy in Omega-3 where he was able to down one intruding RoS fighter and rout two more.

Although he joined up to stay close to his friends, as he grew older, he became less attached to them, and more focused on the goal of aiding the Hessian cause as much as he could. His rate of promotion meant that he soon left them behind.

As a Leutnant, he was given a Molly gunboat vessel to use, named the RHGB-Wirbelwind. His skills in captaining the gunboat have recently become prominent, and he has been assigned to pilot the vessel in combat many times due to this skill.

Personality

Falk has become fairly solitary since joining the army and leaving his friends behind in favour of promotions. As a result, much of his free time is spent alone, reading or dealing with any work for the Revolution outside of the combat field. He is often quiet too, meaning he has made few new friends, possibly partly due to his regret for losing friends before, and knowing how easily they can slip away again.

However, on the battlefield, things become quite different. Falk has no qualms about barking orders down some young Flieger's throat, and is known to be a harsh man to those who do not follow orders to the letter. Although disliked by many of the lower ranks who have had the experience of being under his command, others hold the view that this may be the best way to get things done.

After his mother Anna died, Falk began to value relationships with other people and other attachments even less. It was as if his whole world could slip away at any point, he felt that anything he valued would be taken away. He interacted with people less for fear of becoming too attached, and upset when (in his mind) they inevitably would be gone again. The only thing that seamed like it could stay, was the revolution, and the ideas behind it. It was all he cared for, the only thing he felt safe in caring about.
