Synopsis
Gallic Metal Service S.A. (GMS) was formed in 398 A.S. by merging several mining companies operating in Gallia space. With over 50% of its stake controlled by the government, GMS is a highly conservative organization that secures old traditions and cares surprisingly well for its employees and their families. While work on mining operations planetside and in space can be very dangerous, high salaries and extensive social services are attractive enough for many colonists who seek a better life and have no desire to join unlawful groups. Many GMS employees and even high-ranking officers have sympathy towards the goals of the Council, but to protect their business in the government-controlled economy of Gallia they have to avoid any dealings with the Council or its unlawful allies.
