Originally constructed in 365 A.S., Glasgow Outpost was the headquarters Bowex (formerly Border World Exports) until late 816 A.S. Bowex was a very large, very old shipping conglomerate. Bowex, which received its royal charter from Prince Harry XXI himself in 310 A.S., claimed a long and storied history in which the company was involved in most of the major events of Bretonian history. Bowex is the leading Bretonian shipping concern and handles most of the shipping in and around Leeds, an operation which continues to the present day despite the system's inherent risks brought about by the war.

When the Kusari presence in Tau 31 became an overwhelming threat to the defences of Leeds, the majority of Bowex and other civilian personnel were evacuated from the station and relocated further behind Bretonian lines to New London and other secure areas. The civilian evacuation left Glasgow under the control of an Armed Forces garrison of marines. The outpost still formally belonged to Bowex, but was in actual fact almost entirely run by the military.

Before and after Bowex's evacuation Glasgow was undergoing significant upgrades to it's external defences, through the addition of more effective armoured hull panels and the implementation of modern military-grade station turrets. Despite this, Bretonian forces did not have the time or resources to replace the antiquated and inefficient internal defence systems of bulkheads and turrets.

During the Battle of Glasgow, where Kusari forces decisively struck through the Tau 31 gate, the invaders played the obsolete internal defences to their advantage, by distracting the external defences and the Derby with their own capital ship battlegroups. With the defences preoccupied, this left the Nagasaki free to dispatch assault craft containing elite Kusari boarding marines, the Tokubetsukeibitai. In a surprise attack the commandos were able to kill enough defenders to gain access to the command rooms and gain partial control of the station's external weapon systems.

Despite the loss of the station's controls the remaining Bretonian marines refused to surrender and fought on, retreating to the engineering levels. It is believed it was just over a week before the last marines were either killed or captured by further Kusari reinforcements.

Glasgow is now used as a supply depot by the Kusari Navy as a link in the supply chain that extends as far forward as Stokes Smelter.
