Planet Mindanao is a true miracle for scientists. But like every rose, this stellar body has thorns. Huge uranium deposits are present inside the planet's crust, and severe radiation that penetrates all types of shields makes approaching Mindanao very dangerous. Attempts by the Independent Mining Guild to establish planetside automated mining facilities all ended in failure. The remnants of a destroyed research station orbit the planet, a casualty of the Gallic invasion into the system.
