Planet Pittsburgh
Planet Pittsburgh.jpg
Base
Owner Faction Deep Space Engineering
Location F2, New York,
Unknown Region

Pittsburgh is covered by a single vast desert, broken only by large rocky outcroppings that were big enough to escape being swallowed up by the sand. Without any ice asteroids in close proximity, the planet was not considered a good candidate for terraforming and remained sparsely populated until a full-scale mineral survey in 650 A.S. pinpointed enormous deposits of Boron in the form of borax salts deep within the Corridera Plateau. A large scale mining operation was established on the planet in 660 A.S. by Deep Space Engineering to exploit these deposits, and it is now one of the only raw material extraction facility left within Liberty space.

Since the success of DSE's boron mining concerns, there has been an increasing need for miners and other workers. Many refugees that come seeking asylum in Liberty often get redirected to Pittsburgh to find work in the boron mines, and to live in the cities that are slowly sprawling outwards around the mining facilities, and Liberty authorities estimate that Pittsburgh's population will reach the 85 million mark by 820 A.S.

Factions and Reputation

No faction representatives are present on this base.

Commodities Broker

The commodities that are listed for this facility are of special interest to its residents. Other commodities can also be sold here, but the commodity broker will only pay the default price for unlisted items. Check the main Commodities page for more information about a specific commodity.

Equipment Dealer

The equipment listed only includes the ship equipment that can be mounted on a ship's hard-point. Any facility that sells mountable equipment also sells munitions for those weapons, as well as repair items such as Shield Batteries and Nanobots. Check the Equipment page for more information about specific items.

Ship Dealer

Most of the faction bases sell ships that are produced by that faction, although some public facilities will often sell general-purpose "civilian" ships. Check the Ship Portal for the facilities that sell a specific ship.
