After facing countless Outcast Capital vessels, the Republic's engineers realized that the current, aging Zephyr type was not enough to counter the more advanced and numerous Outcast fleet. Due to the Zephyr's lack of hull strength and firepower, the Republic decided it was time to develop a heavier vessel, and the Kronos was born.
Based on the Zephyr and the Thanatos cruiser designs, the Kronos was constructed as a direct frontal assault ship. With the improved reactor and engines along with multiple layers of super-hardened Titanium-Alloy plate, the Kronos is a heavily armored gun platform.
With the ability to maintain and deploy a limited number of fighter craft onto the battlefield and assist them with heavy capital weaponry, even a single Kronos is a force to be reckoned with.
Handling
- This ship is too large to use docking bays, it must use mooring points.

Review (4.86)
Almost every ship in the game, even those which are less effective than others, have people who enjoy flying them and prefer them to other ships. The Kronos is not one of them. This has got to be the worst capital ship currently present. It is larger than nearly all other battleships, yet it has the hull and firepower of a medium-light battleship. Its turret count is deceiving as most of these are secondary turrets. Its turn rate is pretty decent, but this is not enough to make up for its brick of a shape and target. If you want to use a Colonial Capital ship, you'd be better off sticking with their cruiser until the good old Zephyr is brought back.
