FuzzyThing is a small semi-domesticated Gaian creature, and the beloved pet of Ame-no-Uzume.
Appearance
FuzzyThing is a member of an unnamed species of tree dwelling Gaian mammal-like creature, possessing physical characteristics similar to Otters, Squirrels, Monkeys, and Kangaroos. He stands about 3/4 of a meter tall (waist height to Ame), on short, powerful legs with large, clawed feet. He is covered in a thick, brown, water-resistant furry coat, and has fully apposable (if short) arms and hands with four digits (including a 'thumb'), and is fully capable of grabbing objects like a human.
It has a long, relatively powerful tail, ears on the top of it's head, medium-sized eyes sensitive to ultraviolet light, and rodent-like teeth with human-like molars. FuzzyThing's species is almost exclusively herbivorous (though will occasionally eat Insects and tiny 'fish' like creatures). FuzzyThing himself mainly consumes human food (Noodles from Noodle Box, Miso, Rice, Lettuce, and has a particular taste for Satsuma Oranges), which has shown no negative side effects except minor weight gain.
FuzzyThing also, like a rodent, needs to chew to ensure it's front teeth remain sharp and short (these teeth appear mainly for biting predators or stripping plant bark rather then meat-eating). Ame provides FuzzyThing with teryaki rawhide and human Bones from her victims (FuzzyThing not realizing what they are), but in the absence of these, he would chew instinctively on anything around Ame's domain he can find.
It was noticed that, after Ame's disappearance, if her name was spoken, FuzzyThing would begin mewling sadly for hours.
Temperment and Intelligence
FuzzyThing is generally friendly, and believed to be as intelligent (if not more so) then a human. As little is known of FuzzyThing's species, weather or not they are capable of the same intellectual capacity or culture as human beings is unknown. FuzzyThing is incapable of human speech due to his different Vocal cords (though seems able to understand it fluently), and communicates in high-pitched guttural mewling and yipping sounds. Weather these have any complex meaning is a mystery.
He seems to enjoy being handled and cuddled, although Ame's equivalent of cuddling can best be described as 'squeezing the life out of'. This, combined with FuzzyThing's well founded fear of Ame's insanity, has lead him to keep his distance as much as possible, and even try to escape (though, the simple fact that Ame is his only food source has usually kept him back).
FuzzyThing seems to have no problems navigating Ame's ship, and even understanding and operating it's controls. He has acted as Ame's de-facto weapons officer aboard the AmeYacht, limited only by his short stature, and seems able to operate nearly every facet of the ship (often better then Ame herself), reinforcing the suspicion that FuzzyThing is fully sentient and possibly more intelligent then most humans.
History
FuzzyThing's origin is ambiguous. He first came into Ame's possession after he was given as a gift/bribe by an Interspace Commerce pilot, under the promise that Ame keep good care of him and never feed him meat. Ame immedietly fell in love with the cuddly adorable thing, much to FuzzyThing's confusion. Ame happily shook down numerous Farmers Alliance to get food for the poor creature and ensure his health.
Shortly thereafter, Ame viciously attached a Phantom Cruiser, Damaging it heavily. However, FuzzyThing was lost during the battle, causing Ame to become Distraught and more insane then usual.
It is unknown what happened to FuzzyThing during this time period, but he (or an indistinguishable member of his species) was soon recovered by Emperor Jien Kogen and returned personally to Ame. As well, Jien recovered a female version of his species, dubbed FluffyThing (who proved cold and uncaring about either Ame or FuzzyThing). FuzzyThing soon returned to his normal tortuous life, despite having affection for FluffyThing, who seemingly did not return the sentiment.
With Ame's mysterious disappearance, FuzzyThing became an orphan, but still was quickly taken in charge by [|Arisu Ai|], an Imperial Guard of the Emperor who found it wandering in the Imperial palace. He actually lives on board of the IKN Shokaku.
