With every war that spans several star systems, the inevitable problem seems to be lying not with morale, military prowess or communication, but with basic supplies. Everything, from soldiers to weapons has a basic cost of supplies that, if not delivered, would inhibit the potential in combat drastically. Issoudun Shipyard was the Crown's attempt to address at least part of the problem. Designed as a mobile field drydock and repair facility, Issoudun was able to produce many spare parts of Gallic Royal Navy ships on the spot using resources located in the surrounding systems, thus circumventing many supply line issues.

Unfortunately for the Enclave, the fateful events of the Glassing and subsequent mutiny of a large portion of its remaining fleet - As well as upheaval back home - radically shifted Issoudun's function into the Royal remnant's sole means of supporting what remains of its capital fleet. An ironic reversal of fortunes forced the Enclave into adopting a system of ship maintenance and recycling not unlike that of their nemesis in the former Council only a few years ago. Using these methods, Issoudun was rapidly expanded into a shipyard complex from all manner of repurposed hull panels and scrap from the billions of casualties from their ill-fated crusade to Bretonia.

No longer able to treat any of their assets “disposably”, Issoudun has a constant rotation of over-worked technicians and engineers boarding, manning, and departing the shipyard at all times to keep it at near full-efficiency at all standard hours of a solar day. The facility is almost always performing intensive repairs to at least one warship at all times, and this critical asset can be reinforced in moments by the veteran Battlegroup Dax, usually stationed within visual range. Although Issoudun's facilities are theoretically suitable for the construction of new spaceframes, resource production from Brittany and Bordeaux just barely approach the capacity needed for the construction of new warships.
