Karl van der Riess, (born September 9th, 771 A.S.) is the supervising quartermaster of the Red Hessian Army's Armament and Acquisitions Department (A&A), currently serving under the rank of Oberleutnant. He is presently considered to be one of the most skilled logistics experts in the movement, frequently overseeing the most taxing and resource heavy operations, in addition to his being in charge of all Red Hessian Army war materials.
Van der Riess was notably on an assignment in Liberty among the ranks of the Hellfire Legion in order to repay the Red Hessian Army's debt to the Legion for supplying vital Liberty Navy technology for the purpose of completion of the Jormungand prototype. He maintained contact with his headquarters at Vogtland, his temporary replacement being Oberleutnant Hans Gluckner.
