An arid desert world, Rugen is located in quite an unfortunate place in the contested system of Omega-55. Even though surveys by the IMG a few years ago showed the planet to have substantial Silver and Cobalt reserves, the volatile political situation in Omega-55 coupled with the hostile environment on Rugen has not yet incentivized anyone to make an attempt to exploit the planet's resources.

Over the years, Rugen accumulated a mid sized field of debris from the various battles and deconstructed bases within the system. The Junkers of Bornholm now operate in orbit, scouring the field for anything that might prove salvagable even if stripping the planet itself is out of the question.
