Official clan

Are the OPG an official clan? If it's not, then are unofficial clans allowed to have a page?

The above, unsigned entry was made by User:Tumble-Weed.

The 'What links here' link in the toolbox (left side, near the bottom) helps very much in this regard. This page is linked from Player Groups, which means that it is not an official Faction, but an unofficial something (Faction, Clan, Group, whatever).

Generally, in a Wiki, anything can have a page, but normally only wanted pages (pages that are linked, but do not exist) should be created. Anything that people would want to look up should have a page. But if pages are very bad in the quality of their contents, they will either be heavily edited (in a way the group may or may not want) or may even be deleted.

I'ld like to keep this discussion opened further if it doesn't take too much of your time. I don't see the problem in making an OPG wiki, since it at least proves we are here and want to participate in every aspect of discovery server. From my opinion, further discussions here can only better it, and not worsen it. I can re-do the OPG information if it's needed, but I'll need an approval from Asno or Gentle as leaders. --Exsiled 13:45, 20 May 2008 (GMT)

I don't think that this page would be a deletion candidate. There's just a small NPOV issue, but that's minor really.

NPOV

This page has to be edited massively to show a neutral point of view, a requirement in any Wiki. Words like 'I', 'myself' or 'we' have to be removed (except in stories, where they may be contained in talk of the persons, or quotes).

This page still looks like it's just copy-and-paste from the forums!

Nodwick 07:37, 20 May 2008 (GMT)

It looks like it's been copied off the Forum because it has. I just didn't want it to see going down to delete land so I edited around the bits bit and I copied the story as it was on the forums. I was willing to make few infoboxes, add a picture and things like that but I'm unsure how to do it when you can't upload picture here, or make an actual infobox. I'ld really devote some time of mine to it, but i'ld like to be taught how to do it.

Also, how to make a re-direct since OPG will be mentioned in more than one place I hope. So if it's able to make OPG redirect to Omega Pirates Guild, it would be amazing

Just as a side-note, i do think that you can upload images to the Wiki, I just don't know how.

This page is actually better than most of the faction pages here. Don't rush yourself, try to contact the heads of the guild and clean it up a bit. If you've got any specific questions, go ahead and ask, I'll answer if I can.

To create a redirect you could make a new OPG page with only this as content:

#REDIRECT [[Omega Pirates Guild]]

But I do think this shouldn't be needed, because other pages should not link to abbreviations, but use links like this: [[Omega Pirates Guild|OPG]]

Question: Infoboxes

I'm actually interested in making those infoboxes like they have on wiki. Yanno a small side box shaped framed column that can contain various information. I'ld put members and alliances there probably, and upload few small pictures just to make it pretty (pictures for ranks for example) and then just re-write the text to be bit better and to have more history. Don't sweat about guild permission, I'm OPG since 2002 on other servers.

Formatted

Okay. I've formatted it and linked everything properly. Do not revert. Just correct out the bits that are incorrect Tumble-Weed (ComLink) (Holocron) 10:25, 4 June 2008 (GMT)

In the list of enemies, Lane Hackers is linked to the NPC faction. Considering you also link to the NPC faction in the "Any other..." list, perhaps you should change the Lane Hacker link to the player faction. --Eyvind 15:01, 8 February 2009 (MST)
