Keep an eye on...
User:KappBradshero3c. Slightly suspicious first edit to his page, I'd have considered it spam if the link went somewhere that was selling something.

Thanks for the update, I forgot to fix the TOC section when importing the changes to the GC wiki. ~RogueCharlie~ (Blabs • Ego)
Border Worlds ships
Hi - If you're going to revert one of my edits, at least tell me what was wrong with it. It's what the edit (reversion) summary is for.
The usage of the Falchion and Bayonet are both indeed restricted by the Lane Hackers. I got a question from someone in the Discovery Help Channel earlier today that was confused regarding this topic due to this exact Wiki page, and I added that to clear it up to anyone else. Thus the extra sentence regarding LH fighters and a link to the tech chart - It wasn't clear from the previous wording of the page.

- The tech chart is not valid server-independent information, so it's no good for a page like Border World Ships. The only exception that I've ever seen made to this is for commodity prices and some infocards (mostly IDs). --Alex 16:15, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- This isn't a server-independent Wiki either, from what I understand. This is the official wiki for the official server. You'll note that it says Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7 Wiki on our logo, and a lot of information here is only applicable to the official Discovery server - for example the entry for the Battleship Westfalen. And every (offical) player faction. That's also the reason why for example the Discovery USA servers have their own Wiki - There's too many differences between servers for there to be a "server-independent" Wiki.
- There's a disclaimer on the very front page of this Wiki regarding this matter: "For server-specific rules, check the website or forum relevant to the server you play on." The information regarding the tech chart (both there and on the ships) will apply to the vast majority of people visiting the Wiki, and the rest of our visitors are covered by the disclaimer on the front page. - Oh look, it's this argument again. It's titled Discovery Wiki. That means Discovery, not Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7. There are 3,040 articles here. 615 of them are in Category:Weapons, 266 of them are in Category:Ships, 459 of them are in Category:Bases, 135 of them are in Category:Systems, 258 of them in Category:Uninhabited Planets. Added up, that's 1,733 pages - at least half of the all pages on the wiki are mod information, not server-specific. The reason the USA server has a wiki is that they decided to put one up. I've fixed the Battleship Westfalen page. As for the official player factions, there was a template at one point that was going to allow for all servers' factions to be represented here, but I'm not sure what happened to it.
- That disclaimer (which I might point out was added by someone who isn't a sysop, but User:Echo7) is all the more reason to remove all server-specific rules (not excluding Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7 stuff). As for the vast majority of the users only wanting content specific to one server, that's an absolutely pathetic reason to go around changing everything so that it cannot be useful to everyone else. --Alex 19:24, 8 December 2011 (UTC)
- Alright. I can't see anything about this being mentioned in the editing rules, nor anywhere else. I've never heard anything about this being a server-independent Wiki before now. If you can show me where this has been said earlier, that'd help - To me this situation seems like you acting on your own, to be honest. I also find it odd that you want to remove "All server-specific rules (not excluding Discovery Freelancer RP 24/7 stuff)" due to a disclaimer that's only been there the last few days to clarify - the Wiki has always been tied with the Discovery RP 24/7 server and server rules (which you find a link to just to the left in it's own category). All of the server-specific information didn't pop up in the five days since that disclaimer was added.
- Adding the tech chart information doesn't make it less useful to everyone else. It makes it just as useful as earlier to them, and a lot more useful to the people who come here from the official server, which this Wiki is primarily for. There's plenty of room for discussing the matter on the discussion page for the template - reverting my and other people's edits isn't the way to go about things if you don't like a change or edit on the Wiki. That's what the discussion pages are for. Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destinationSpace (talk) 21:37, 8 December 2011 (UTC)

- Look at the left hand side of the screen. Now work your way up to the top of the webpage, and behold a small icon. Unless I am severely mistaken, that small image contains the text: "RP 24/7 - Wiki". So yes, this is the Wiki dedicated to the RP 24/7 server. Therefore, it is entirely appropriate for us to host server-specific information relevant to the its rules.
- Just because this information -may- not be relevant to every server does not mean that it is a hindrance to those who do visit this Wiki. If a player from another server visits this Wiki then they should already be aware of potential differences in server rules, so therefore when using this Wiki they will ignore the RP 24/7 rules differences. If not, that's why I put the disclaimer on the front page.
- What is pathetic, though, is reverting our changes without any explanation just because you personally feel that it is a detriment to the Mod's playerbase. I would care to note that the RP 24/7 server has, by a significant margin, more players on it than any other Discovery server - possibly more than all of them combined. Even if (and that's still a big "if") adding server-specific notes about rules negatively affects some non-RP 24/7 players, it is still providing a benefit for a majority of players of the Mod. Hi, sorry for editing your own reply on your own talk page (not something one would generally do, I'm aware), but I didn't see you on Skype to inform you about it in person. Your talk page was accidentally a ship, a base, a system, an uninhabited planet and a weapon - I added a : to each category link in the above discussion to prevent this from happening. Nothing else has been touched.
