Located in the heart of De Crecy asteroid field, Guise is the primary producer of aluminium in the House of Gallia. The metal is prominently featured in De Crecy asteroids, and even after several hundreds of years of active mining the field still contains billions of tons of aluminium. Guise is used as a drop-off point for asteroid miners in De Crecy, and also houses local Police patrols, construction workers employed for maintaining the miners and service ships, and the administrative offices of Gallic Metal Services. The station's core was built in 350 AGS. In 480-490 AGS, when aluminium demand increased across Gallia, a lengthy trade lane system was built from Planet Amiens to Guise through the Saint-Quentin Space Colony area.
While the significance of Guise decreased along with economic decline in the Picardy system that started around 500 AGS, it is still one of the most profitable mining operations of GMS. The mineable area is relatively safe, with nearby Fort Etaples providing sufficient protection from pirate groups and more serious threats. In 691 AGS, aluminium processing facilities were built and attached to the station, producing specific alloys used for building spaceship hull components. The Second Gallic War and, more recently, Sirius conquest, significantly increased demands for metals in Gallia, and GMS is currently employing over 1200 new workers to increase Guise's production capacity.
