The Argus, named for the all seeing giant of old, is a rare class of ship drafted to fulfill the role of a dedicated deep space reconnaissance vessel. Equipped to survive months without external support charting systems outside of the mysterious jumphole network, the Argus carries the armor, armament and fortitude to excel far beyond the redline of the known systems of Sirius.

Review The Argus is a large, heavy cruiser that, since it doesn't at present have a thruster slot, is not suited to the regular cruiser tasks. Largely considered to be a useless ship by most players, it does have a few situations where it becomes effective: - Cruiser versus cruiser battles. This ship can chainfire light mortars, in bursts of five if it's core is fully charged. It also has a generous amount of standard turrets, most of which have good arcs. - Long range missile assaults. Cruiser missiles have a higher range then battleship ones. You will be able to engage targets at a very high range. The Argus powercore allows you to use such a launcher repeatedly. - Capital ships support. The two battleship turret slots can be filled with a dual battleship Cerberus setup. The Argus can continuously fire these, with any excess power to a light mortar launcher. It is recommended that you stay at range in this setup, and break off as soon as you're engaged by a battleship. You will not last long in a straight shootout.
