History

Following the Founders Day Revolt in 752 AS, overworked and underpaid workers took control of their own mining stations, executing their overlords, and capturing a pair of mining ships. Rather than attempt to negociate with the rebels, the BAF arrived in force with capital ships and fighters, smashing one of the mining ships, then Endeavor, and pursuing the Glorious into a dense field, where the pursuiers were routed by a series of large mines, set in preparation for the revolt.

The BAF and Bretonian government, incensed at the continuing existence of a revolting band of miners, sent the HMS-Hood, a Dunkirk class battleship, from New London to restore order. This was the last straw for the workers who had, until then, remained loyal. The entire mining popultation of the system declared their Indipendance, and began a long guerilla war against the opressive and brutal government. The Hood was disabled by a huge mine, setting off a chain-reaction in the ship's aft. The engines and main reactors were completely trashed, and it was concluded that repairs could not be conducted in such a hostile enviroment. The BAF stripped and abandoned the ship, and the indipendant Miners Guild took it over shortly after, establishing the only freeport within House space.

Since the revolt, the Mollies have grown into a fierce group of terrorists and pirates, using attacks on both commercial shipping and mining operations, civilian establishments, and BAF bases and convoys in their fight to gain indipendance. The Londonderry System is considered a No-Fly zone for all BAF ships, and the Molly Asteroid Field, and Dublin in general, have become increasingly dangerous for the BAF and corsairs alike.

After the vicious Thermonuclear bombing of Planet Cork in 802 AS, the Corsairs have become a prime target for all Molly pilots and ships. Standing Orders stated that any corsair ships encountered, regardless of type, is to be destroyed immediatly, no quarter will be given or expected.

In 816 AS rulling molly faction Union of Gold signs Treaty of Dublin with Queen Carina, agreeing on terms to become Bretonian protectorate, but few weeks later Molly traditionalist uprising declared treaty null and void and resumed their operations with purpose of establishing independant Republic without any compromises with Bretonian empire.

The Molly's traditionalist, The Molly Republic Militia took control over the forgotten Molly bases in New Castle while the corrupted Union of Gold kept control of bases in Dublin and Londenderry. Over the past few months the two sides of the Molly's have been going at it for months now with no progression on both sides only ending in large amounts of deaths for both sides.

After months and months of fighting the UOG High Command vanished with no saying of his whereabouts. Thus UOG officers took the liberty of searching their quarters for any clues. They're they found evidence of former High Command member was a Bretonian Secret Service agent order to receive information and get the treaty signed under any circumstances. With that now in mind the UOG and MRM had a long meeting about further relations and came to the conclusion of rebelling against the Queen and to terminate the treaty thus beginning the Molly Republic.

During the height of the Dublin Gold rush, the field manager in charge of the primary large-scale corporate operation in the system was a ruthless tyrant named Sir Edmund Graves.The miners were pushed harder to cover up the shortfall in shipments back to New London, and the situation became critical. The Founders Day Revolt, as it came to be known, occurred on the annual national Bretonian holiday in 752 AS that commemorated the original founding of New London centuries before. The workers mutinied, executed Graves and his compatriots, and took control of the mining ships Endeavor and Glorious.The Bretonian military response was swift and furious. Bretonian gunboats arrived shortly, and in the ensuing battle, destroyed the Endeavor and its mutineers.Despite few tangible victories in their effort to free the Dublin system from control of the Bretonian government, they've still managed to fight a vastly superior military force to a near standstill.Arranmore is one of first Molly made base.

The home of the Mollys After the destruction of Planet Cork by a Corsair invasion force, majority of Mollys moved to the Coleraine base built inside a huge asteroid. Molly High Command and the bulk of all Molly forces live on this station. It was the brainchild of Dr. Patrick O'Carrol.

Foyle is the main Molly ship production facility where they assemble the Rogue Gunboats and the mighty Ridgeback after getting the parts shipped in from their allies. Several well-known ship designers from Bretonia who are believed to have defected to the Molly's may be conducting their work here

Since its independence from Bretonia has been declared, the Molly's no longer had access to the smelters and refineries of planet Leeds. Molly gold was beginning to find major markets throughout Sirius, and demand was higher than Mahgerfelt station could meet. Profits are higher than anyone could have imagined, and Garvagh Station is a fine example of that. It is one of the largest known industrial facilities in the galaxy, producing millions of gold bars per hour. This station is the center of the Molly economy, and crucial to the survival of their war efforts

Following the destruction of all life on Planet Cork by the Corsairs, all survivors fled to nearby Colerain base, the Military HQ of the Mollies freedom movement. Colerain was not outfitted to maintain so many refugee's, and plans for a civilian station where quickly drawn up. The station was named Kilrea, after Shamus Kilrea, the man who helped to evacuate thousands of refugees from Cork's surface just before the orbital bombardment commenced. The inhospitable and volitile world of Cork, which Kilrea orbits, is a reminder to all residents of Kilrea station that evil lurks in the hearts of men, and what that evil is capable of. It is a driving force, for all Mollys, man, woman, and child to never let such a catastrophe ever happen again. Kilrea Station orbits the desolated planet Cork. For generations to come, it will be the home for all Molly civilians

Discovered in 794 A.S. by Molly scouts returning from a reconnaissance mission into Omega 5, Lisburn Rock was teh perfect location to construct a fortress for basing Molly forces at, from which they would be able to combat Corsair incurions into Bretonia. A huge rock asteroid located on the edges of the Keswick ice cloud in Cambridge, the interior was hollowed out and construction was eventually completed in 804 A.S.

Raiding parties are often launched from the base on the nearby trade lanes, and with the convenient location of the Omega 3 jumphole, supplies from Freeport 1 are fairly easy to obtain, as well as providing the Mollys with a place to dispose of stolen goods. The Corsairs often strike across the Cambridge Line from Omega-5, and while the Mollys don't hold much love for the Bretonia Armed Forces, they consider Bretonia to be their turf and Lisburn Rocks is their frontline defence against the invading Corsair squadros.

Taypord is a new Molly base recently constructed in the Dundee system. It is rumored that Bretonia Armed Forces tolerated the Molly presence in the system in exchange for guarantees that the Mollys would stay away from any military or support ships belonging to the Armed Forces.

"Our ressources are low, and we cannot afford to run large ships. Our and Rogue joint ship design is well suited for our way of life, and is moderately priced to produce and maintain. Gunboat, being our biggest ship available, will be restriced to Senior Pilots and up. The Flagship will be the Ridgeback Pirate Destroyer as it was one of the last surviving destroyers from the Colonial war and will only be available to Counsel members. Cost of loosing such a vessel is too great to risk. Similarly to that, Pirate Transports will be given only to Senior Pirates and up, since new pilots need to get the basics of flight in fighter craft first."

Very experienced pilots, they are candidates for becoming Councilor

Senior Plot

A senior pilot, given the command authority to take charge of a given group of pilots in the absence of any Veterans or Councilors. Allowed to fly any ship on the list.

Pilot

A rank-and-file member of the MR. Allowed to pilot Bombers and below, and has the option of Captaining a Mule or Pirate Transport.

Recruit

A very junior pilot, one who has either recently joined the MR. Allowed to pilot Very Heavy Fighters and below
