Battleship Harlow primarily trained new recruits of the Armed Forces. While fully functional as a warship, part of her fighter bay has been converted in a virtual reality training center where ships of all sizes can be simulated in a number of situations. This allowed the Armed Forces to train their pilots without endangering expensive military hardware.

However, during the Gallic advance on New London, the Harlow and her meager fighter wings were on station to secure Fort Winchester, responding late to the surprise attack by the GRI's flagship, the Embrun, on Birmingham Station. Arriving to the scene, the Harlow initiated emergency CASEVAC for the BMM station, while securing the surrounding space.

Following the assault on Birmingham the Admiralty Board has issued the Harlow new orders, and she now stands watch over the New London Gate, protecting what little traffic which manages to run the gauntlet of the Cortez system
