3rd Gunboat Assault Wing Information

It will not be an overstatement to say that the Third Gunboat Assault Wing of Liberty Navy Secondary fleet is a really elite military unit. It was created after one of the battles on Liberty-Rheinland border in year 818 when a group of gunboat captains and their crew have drasticly changed the course of the battle and allowed Navy fleet to regroup and counter-attack to finally hurl back Rheinlanders to Hamburg.

Now this gunboat wing successfully operates around Liberty, in Rheinland and even in Omicrons. Capable of taking down large ships as well as light craft, this wing got firmly established in numerous battles. It took part in assaults on Rheinland, successfully protected Texas from regular Phantom assaults and secretly operated in Omicron Delta assisting Zoners in large battle against K'Hara fleet in August 818. Today it is one of the main quick reaction forces in Liberty with the biggest body count ever.

Recuirtment

While being a Liberty Navy Secondary Fleet unit, 3rd Gunboat Assault Wing puts high requirements to the captains who want to fly their ships under the guise of this well-known unit. But even after being applied the eligible candidate should pass a lot of trainings, achieve a proper level of teamwork with other members of the wing and prove his skills in a real combat.

The Wing consist only of Liberty-produced Gunboat-class vessels. Most of them were constructed in the last years and correspond an proper example of Liberty superiority in open space with armor updated to Capital Mark IV, V, VI, VII and VIII level. The old ships used by Wing members also pass several upgrades including replacement of old armor plating and mounting the high-end navigational equpment.

All the members go through a large course of Forward Gun training and pass serie of tests including anti-fighter and anti-bomber training, tactical exercises and serie of duels with other captains.

After the incident with LNS-KittyhawkAssault11 captain Jason Wade that gone rogue due to personal relations with Alexis Glover, member of the Liberty Rogues criminal group, all the candidates pass a long interview with Liberty Navy officers and have to provide a curriculum vitae and information about their relatives and their personal relations.
