Lapalisse Base was built by the Maquis within the Limagne nebula in 699 AGS. The construction site was mainly supplied from Vichy base belonging to the Council, and Council pilots are frequent guests at the facility. One of the primary tasks the depot was supposed to fulfill was observing and tracking the movements of the Gallic Navy forces in Berry and Auvergne, two systems where the bulk of the Sirius invasion armada was being concentrated. Lapalisse was the site where a number of devastating attacks against GRN ships in Auvergne were planned, events that contributed to delaying the Navy's offensive in Languedoc, providing the Council sufficient time to clear the mine field path. The depot also serves as a drop off point for Brigands and other unlawfuls that use the jump hole between Berry and Auvergne for smuggling goods between the systems. Recently, Lapalisse also houses a group of Refugees originating from Quillan - who did not wish to participate in the Council's risky endeavour of seeking a new home within the Sirius sector.
