The Fafnir is a light bomber cleverly disguised as something heavier.  While its measly 2 gun/turret hardpoints may seem weak, it has a 50k powercore, enough to power 2 bomber torps at once, 120 bots/bats, and a CD.  In the right hands, this little number can run 5 mil jobs in New Hampshire, and still have torpedoes left over, all for the bargain price of 14 mils.  Because of the expanded power core, it is possible to do anti-fighter missions easily, as double nova utterly destroys even the best fighter.  This isn't really feasible with any other bomber I've flown.  The Fafnir is built for versatility, and as equally at home with sending a snac up your grill as engaging at range with nova spam.  The best loadout for this bomber I've seen and enthusiastically use myself is 2x Hellfire, 2x EMP, 2x Nova, Train CD, and Sentinel CM.  This puppy can chain Novas, and even SNACS like no one's business.  Every other bomber in Sirius weeps, for they know they will never be Fafnirs.  If you are BHG, take the 10% power drain.  It's worth it.  Just make sure your opponents don't have a dairy allergy from all the cheese you're bringing.

Hype aside, you are not invincible, so don't charge a line of Gunboats.  You will not only die, you will die so fast it will be hilarious.  If you have Hellfires, you may bag one, but they will dodge every single Nova you'll send.  This goes for any other bomber you'll see, though, so it shouldn't be surprising.  Also, you're rather wide from up top or down below, which means watch for razors.    |4.87}}

Fafnir was always in the shadow of Bergelmir, and after changes to both nothing has really changed. Even though it has a massive powercore of over 50.000, it's still good only for an all-out-attack, since the ship is so big and slow that it falls down very fast. The Armor is big, long enough to dish out a lot of damage before going down, guns placements are good, while Snac ones are almost perfect, right in the middle. Recommending if you feel like you need more damage instead of survivability which Bergelmir offers.

The blow struck against Rheinland following the events of the war of 800 A.S. placed a heavy burden on Rheinland's already struggling economy and military might. With her dearly bought fleets reduced to the broken testament to a curious period in humanity's history it seemed as though little could be gained save a lesson.

One which Rheinland took to heart.

The Fafnir bomber, brought into the field on the immediate brink of a long forseen war is the result of nearly twenty years of studious labor on how to best break the back of a foe's capital fleet... and restore Rheinland's military glory on the field of battle.

Review (4.88)

Fafnir was always in the shadow of Bergelmir, and after changes to both nothing has really changed. Even though it has a massive powercore of over 50.000, it's still good only for an all-out-attack, since the ship is so big and slow that it falls down very fast. The Armor is big, long enough to dish out a lot of damage before going down, guns placements are good, while Snac ones are almost perfect, right in the middle. Recommending if you feel like you need more damage instead of survivability which Bergelmir offers.

Pros: Massive powercore, Armor, Guns placement Cons: Agility, Size
