Arnon Asteroid Field was discovered early during the exploration of Berry, but was largely ignored as an uninteresting field of mostly micrometeors orbiting a central point of gravity. The dustfield is almost impossible to notice with the naked eye. However, a more extensive study around 521 A.G.S. proved Arnon to be rich in precious metals, materials rarely encountered in large quantities in Gallia.
Finding this trove was one thing, mining it was another. It took the Gallic Metal Service more then a century to come up with a reliable way to capture and process the rapid meteors. Once successful field tests had been done, Vierzon was completed in 671 A.G.S. to maintain the small mining fleet of specialized craft that work the field and process the various metals. Due to their high value, resource transports to and from Vierzon are generally under heavy guard.
