Beginnings

Gabriel Mao was born a man of conviction and dedication, always honest, always hard working, always caring for the people of Manhattan, Liberty, and Sirius as a whole. Or rather that is what his father paid to have said about him in the locals news nets, image really is everything in business.

The son of a powerful and wealthy executive he never found himself restrained from anything but the most cardinal of sins. Even then money can wash almost anything in Liberty.

Growing up spoiled was the staple of any executive's son, no hard work or consequences for their boys was the motto. An upbringing like this always has it's consequences though; The prodigal son grew to be an accomplished liar, thief, and womanizer. For a time they even considered adding bail to their tax returns just to prove that company finances weren't being misused.

Year 813 onwards

Fast forward to 813 A.S. we find Gabriel and his father in the throes of another argument, it was time for the boy to step up and start getting involved in running one of the small companies his father had acquired over the years. It would give him discipline, maturity, skills; It was supposed to make him grow up. But we all know that plans rarely follow what the architect has laid out, words are uttered, actions are taken, and before you know it everything is different. That night ended with him walking out on his family for the next five years.

He left first for Kusari, the posh den of his formative years. You could have anything you want there if you knew how to ask for it, it didn't help fulfill anything but his pension for excess though. This was nothing new, it wouldn't spite his father, all it did was level his wallet at a healthy zero. It on one of those nights spent looking at the exotic stars from a penthouse on New Tokyo that Gabriel decided what he would do. It was simple, it would be the ultimate insult to his father; He would join the Sirius Coalition.

Joining the Coalition

Two weeks, three freighters, and one VD scare later he found himself in a recruitment office locking eyes with an aging officer; he bit his teeth and lied, he hated money and everything that went with it. The drugs, the sex, the alcohol, the profiteering and exploitation, they were the very opposite of who he was. For a brief moment he even believed it. And then he was in, a Sub-Lieutenant of the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army. He spent the next five years climbing the ladder. It was at the end of those five years that Gabriel made the most amazing realization of his life.

He believed in it; He believed in the Coalition.
