When Kishiro wrestled control of the government from Samura, and the Naval Forces defeat in the Taus made expansion into Bretonia's rich mineral fields impossible, Samura decided that an alternate plan must be chosen. With mining expansion no longer an option, and few opportunities for new trade, it was decided that Kusari's largest Keiretsu would focus its efforts on the manufacturing of goods.
Constructed alongside the Nagano Project, Misaki Station was built to increase Samura's burgeoning Quantum Multiplexor industry. Most of the manufacturing areas on the station are kept at zero gravity to speed up the construction of goods. Misaki Station's output is planned to replace all of the minor manufacturing centers for Multiplexors and consolidate them into one, more efficient, facility. As production increases, there are plans for the multiplexors not used for Kusari to be shipped to the other Sirian houses to satisfy the ship-building demands caused by the various wars going on in Sirius.
