The first ships of the Kusari Explorer line were built in 490 A.S., a period when space exploration was considered very important for the House of Kusari, the Explorers were equipped to spend long months and even years charting distant star systems for possible resources to be exploited by the state.
The initial design was adopted by Samura, and through it, the Gas Miners Guild who found great use of the vessel in their continuing mission of charting the expanses of the Crow nebula to seek out new pockets of resources to feed Sirius' ever growing energy needs. The Explorers of modern times have been retrofitted with superior military grade hardware and shielding to ensure that the Guild's finds would not fall into the hands of claim jumpers. Additional modern Kishiro amenities and superior sensor packages have produced a vessel that is as comfortable as it is hardy; as such the Explorer has found a valuable after-market for Freelancers and wealthy Kusarians alike seeking to find the next hidden jump hole, or luxuriate in its firepower, with a measure of comfort and security.

Review
From every aspect of view, this ship is a real monster. It has a huge powercore and the highest number of regens (nanos/bats), this ship is one of the strongest gunboats that can be bought around Sirius in my opinion. It has a bit lower hull than most of other gunboat and it lacks much needed maneuverability due it's large size. This ship is mostly used to take other gunboats down, because it has a really neat firing arch, however if you confront a few fighters or bombers prepare to get your ass whooped. Weapons that fire fast suit this ship the best. This ships is almost defenseless when attacked for above because it has only 3 turrets that can shoot upwards. In hands of a skilled pilot this gunboat is deadly, even for some weaker cruisers. So the point is, if you want to win a fight get the strongest turrets that are available to you, (I would recommend Zoner turrets if you can get them, but mixed with 1-3 basics, so you won't run out of energy before the real fight even starts) get up close to the target and hit it, hit it hard.Error creating thumbnail: Unable to save thumbnail to destination Review by Crusader |
