The large space colony of Montlucon was built in 644 A.G.S. by EFL Oil and Machinery. The facility is representative of a new generation of space colony facilities. Montlucon was built utilizing recent advances in technology, and follows strict quality standards for space habitats. EFL managed to keep the station profitable for most of its existence. The Second Gallic War attracted a large number of migrants from the Languedoc system, bringing the station to full capacity. EFL's policies deny the acceptance of any additional people, even relatives of the current settlers.
The station also houses one of the largest Polymer production plants in Gallic space. High-quality Polymers that require Zero-G production methods, and various byproducts are exported from Montlucon to a number of locations in Auvergne, Orleanais and beyond.
