Erfurt is a fiery and turbulent world due to its close proximity to Thuringia's star. Its dense atmosphere consists of aerosols composed of carbonaceous gases, ammonia, methane, but mainly elementary hydrogen, all of which is slowly escaping as a dust tail into space. Erfurt's dark atmosphere is unable to reflect sufficient energy from the star to prevent it from literally being charged up with heat. Spectacular plasma storms of enormous size and strength caused by the gas giant's high gravity swirl up its atmosphere. A core of metallic hydrogen is suspected to lie beneath the planet's dark-brown mist.
