James Corey, causually known as Jim, is a pilot, rank of ensign, in the Liberty Navy.
Background
James' father Charles was a veteran lieutenant in the Navy. His mother Ellen (born Brighton) is an immigrant from Bretonia, specifically the Dublin system. James was raised on Manhattan and attended Sector 8 PHS from which he graduated in 811 A.S. at the age of 19. By the time he graduated, James had saved enough credits through small sidejobs and even the one or other run-in with Rogues and other criminals, to buy a spaceship, which he used to escort his older brother Arthur on trade runs through Liberty.
Career at Interspace
The same year he graduated, his father got him a job as an escort pilot at Interspace Commerce through a favor still owed. Corey quickly ascended through the ranks and became captain of his own escort wing by March 815, a position in which he protected even dangerous trade runs through the Sirius Sector. However, later that year, his father got killed in a shoot-out between the Rogues and the Xenos, an incident that deeply affected James. He became more ruthless when engaging pirates, even endangering his men and the ships he was supposed to protect. This led to his suspension in late 818 A.S., a measure James didn't take lighty. He quit Interspace just two days later.
After a couple of weeks it became clear that Corey wouldn't find any jobs with the Liberty cooperations after his quarrel with Interspace. He enlisted to join the Navy in February 819 at West Point and was accepted as a recruit. Shortly after completing the necessary training sessions, he was promoted to ensign.
Liberty Security Force Evaluation
- Possible ties to Mollys through mother
- In consideration of his past: Possible ties to Liberty pirates broken through the death of his father
- Brother living on Barrier Gate Station in Coronado. Might have ties to criminals
Love interests
James Corey was romantically involved with Martha Richard, PhD for three years from 815 A.S. to 818 A.S. Until entering into a relationship with him, she was his psychotherapist at Interspace Commerce. Detailed reasons for the break-up are not publically known.
