Battleship Arles is the flagship of the Provence defensive fleet which is tasked to defend Planet Marseille and surrounding systems from pirate attacks. It was laid down in Fourchambault Shipyard in 713 AGS and was commissioned into the Gallic Royal Navy service in 714 AGS. After participating in several operations against the Council in the Burgundy system, Arles was brought into Provence in 726 AGS where it has been on duty ever since, with the exception of brief maintainance trips to its home shipyard.
