The asteroid base that once belonged to Nation Libre was converted into a Maquis outpost circa 660 AGS. It is one of the smaller asteroid bases in Gallic space, yet, it suffers from considerable overpopulation, since many of the Nation Libre families were allowed to stay at Charost (and many men actually joined the ranks of the Maquis). The base is conveniently located on a path between Orleanais and Berry, and many black market traders along with their escort use the base as a safe haven, which the local Maquis freely allow in exchange for a share of the profits.
