Carrier Hades is a survivor of the Gallic invasion of Tau-44 in 818 A.S., where it helped to defend the Republic's fleeing refugee transports. In the following years, the Zephyr lurked throughout the Tau systems, evading the Gallic fleet while acting as the primary staging point for the Crayter Military insurgency in the region.
After a majority of the Oblique battlegroup defected from the Gallic Royal Navy and forthwith joined the Council, Hades returned to Tau-44 in order to conduct a joint operation with them. The task of eliminating the remaining Gallic occupation forces was finally in sight. Its veteran strike forces seemed to be scoring a decisive victory over them, until it became apparent that the defenders were engaging them only in a fighting withdraw. Alas, their motives were of no immediate consequence to Crayter, for they had finally freed the former home system of the Republic.
With Tau-44 largely secured, Carrier Hades was redeployed to an advanced position inside Omicron Tau after a brief rearmament at Singapore Shipyard. Here in Outcast territory, it fulfills a dual role, with one mission to launch strikes inside the Gallic upper flank, and the other to stage retaliatory attacks against Outcast supply lines. Hades’ overall intent is to make their longstanding enemies both pay for their atrocities, and the crew is highly motivated to fulfill this task.
