After Battleship Guillestre was redeployed to the Tau systems to support the Royal Navy's invasion of Sirius, Battleship Ambazac was stationed in the Dauphine system. Ambazac's deployment reflected the old Royal Navy strategy of 'defense in depth.' Rather than concentrating forces at the perimeter of the threat, the fleet was arranged to provide security throughout Gallia's territory. This prevented the loss of large forces in case of surprise assaults, and forced adversaries to confront the certainty of quick reinforcement throughout most of Gallia.

This strategy was abandoned when the blitz on New London was ordered. Hundreds of rear echelon warships were drawn from the core Gallic systems, and the Ambazac was no different. As a member of the Charlemagne line of Battleships designed for defense and support assignments, the Ambazac is now part of the three point defense around the scuttled Southampton Shipyard. With the Beuvray and Le Cendre, Ambazac's duty is to secure the strategically vital location to maintain an effective supply line without risk of a vulnerable flank.

The Battleship was lost during the final battle of New London.
