The Battleship Mars, after having been constructed at the Alabama Shipyard, was sent to Dagger Outpost in Omega-55. Initially deployed to the distant Omega outpost on a shakedown run to test the mettle of the ship and her crew, the situation changed dramatically in Omicron Theta shortly before they made the jump to the Omegas when a distress call was received from Dagger. While the audio feed was choppy, the video clearly showed an Osiris class battleship approaching the installation. As the closest ship in the area, the Mars attempted to respond to the situation but instead encountered the Battleship Canaan, damaged from a previous engagement.
Certain that this was the vessel responsible for the attack on Dagger, the Mars fired her guns for the first time in the midst of the dark matter storm. When the dust settled, the Canaan had been broken, but the cost was high. With her largely green crew, the Mars fared poorly and sustained moderate damage. The Mars is currently in need of field repairs that prevents it from exiting Omega-58, and it is only a matter of time before the Wild that inhabit the system zero in on the weakened battleship.
