The Farmers Alliance has a long history of procuring ships from their Corsair allies, the most notable being the Battleship Kumamoto. Unfortunately for the Farmers Alliance, the Kumamoto would prove to be nothing more than a White Elephant for the group, unable to provide the ship enough support or procure enough supplies for large scale operations, in addition to being too large for use within Kusari house space, the ship did little to further the Farmers cause.
The Kurume however, a more modest ship, is far more suited to operations across Kusari, and is an effective weapon for the Farmers against their rivals. The exchange of the Praefect Cruiser however came with a condition, the return of the Kumamoto to Corsair service, as the Corsair elders seek to recoup losses to their fleet as a result of ships lost supporting the ill-fated Gallic invasion of Bretonia, and conflict with the Coalition and Hessians in Omega-47.
