Synopsis

Small syndicate formed from the collapsed Shinra Corporation that etched its way into the Kusari underworld. Has Quasi-legal contracts mostly within Kusari, and Kagemushu SOLDIER class operatives for convert operations that are sold on a restricted market.

History

Before the Sleeper Ships were deployed, Shinra Corporation was once known as the Shinra Electric Power Company. In those times the company made a discovery of Mako energy. This energy although being rich and valuable was being derived from the core of the planet. After some time the planet became weak and the Shinra Electric Power Company became its own downfall.

Some time later, not long after the Sleeper Ships arrived, a few scientists, along with some core leaders of the company found there way to the Sirius Sector. Whilst helping to rebuild the once great Alliance civilization, these few people began to research into what went wrong in their breakthrough. During 25 A.S. a key element in Mako energy was found and Synthetic Mako Energy was discovered. This proved to be no threat to the planets welfare and could be made on a large production scale. Although because of the downfall of the Shinra Electric Power Company, funding was limited and the name of the company was shamed.

For years the remnants of the company tried to get funding through most mainstream organisations, yet failed because no one believed in such odd methods of energy. Although during 40 A.S. Rufus Shinra, a company executive, overheard the failed attempts of a revolutionary engine design. After talking to the man Rufus proposed a deal to incorporate his companies findings of Synthetic Mako Energy into the new engine design. The man accepted and then introduced himself as a Valhalla Research representative. He asked the name of Rufus' company, and the Shinra Corporation was born.

Some years later after receiving a massive funding increase and having part of revolutionary travel technology, including Jump Gates, the Shinra Corporation became part of Kusari's economical trade.

During 90 A.S. Rufus Shinra became the corporate executive, and made a bold move, by offering a contract to Kishiro Technologies. The contract was to merge the properties of Synthetic Mako Energy and advanced circuitry. After one year of research the breakthrough in technology was made public by Kishiro Technologies, with Shinra Corporation quietly making profits. The new circuitry was then installed into most technology-dependent systems including House Docking Rings and Jump Gates. When the Trade Lanes were built during 280 A.S. Shinra Corporation played a vital part with forming a bridge between Kusari and Liberty to provide up-to-date circuitry and Trade Lane technology to construct the Trade Lanes throughout Sirius.

In 801 A.S., the Shinra Corporation had set transport convoys in both the Ageira Branch and the Kishiro Branch, as well as having a small branch in prisoner transport. Shinra Corporation had also brought back their special forces unit SOLDIER to keep pirates at bay. Shinra Corporation had been said to be based on Planet New Tokyo, however there was no official evidence of a permanent base, so was said that the Shinra Corporation operated out of a neural net or a mobile base. Although there were rumors of Shinra Corporation investing in small-time smuggling, there was no hard evidence that can be linked to these stories.

During 816 A.S., after having a major investment deal go sour, the Shinra Corporation went bankrupt dismantling all of their business deals and ties to other corporations. As board members went around looking for work, one by the name of Hei Kuichi started a tight-knit group of some researchers, executives, and Shinra Corporation SOLDIER 's that hadn't already become mercenaries. Picking up small transport contracts and import/export contracts within Kusari, the group became quite successful.

Present day, with the strong ex shinra corporation soldier's at the groups dispersal, advanced technology from Shinra Corporation's research, and with the quasi-legal contracts they deal with; the group became known as the Kagemusha Syndicate, while the official name became Kagemusha Ltd.
