Savas de Lyon was born on Montmartre Space Colony, Ile-de-France 791A.S. His parents were Luina and Marcus De Lyon, a stay at home mother and trial lawyer respectively. The most notable events of Savas De Lyon occurred after his parents were murdered by the Corse after his father successfully prosecuted one of their members despite, their deaths left Savas and his younger sister without a family, at a only eighteen and twelve years old respectively. Fearing for his sister’s life, Savas using most of the money granted by insurance and his parent’s will went to planet Marseille, Provence; there he sought to make enough money to smuggle his sister out of Gallia, to Liberty – what he considered to be the promised land. Savas knew that seeking legitimate work would put his sister and himself in great danger, not to mention the pay he would be given was far less than what they needed to sustain themselves, not to mention get to Liberty. Marseille was the ideal location for him, the Nox capital of the sector – and he planned to exploit it. Proving himself to be brutal, cunning, and subtle Savas managed to wrest control of an entire district of the drug trade, smuggling tonnes of Nox in and out of Gallia, producing a fortune for himself in the process. Soon he was able to afford the necessary funds to smuggle his sister out of Gallia and into Liberty, where he knew she would be safe. His fortune eventually ran out however, and a traitor in his organization turned him over to the police, ending his time in the underworld and receiving a life sentence from the courts. During his short tenure as a drug kingpin, Savas amassed a myriad of skills and knowledge particularly outside of Gallia, he learned of smugglers routes, jump holes, pirate bases, and maintained a large network of contacts. Luckily for him, Admiral Blacques of the Gallic Royal Navy who was responsible for gathering intelligence on the warfront was in need of his skills and experience. Blacques offered him a deal, Savas could be released from prison, his record cleared, and the Corse responsible for his parent’s death brought to justice in exchange for servitude to the GRN until the war against Sirius was over. Savas, of course, agreed and was freed from prison at the age of twenty-five, after taking a mandatory four year course of advanced military training and criminal rehabilitation he was assigned to the Fourth Naval Reconnaissance Wing where the enigmatic Savas De Lyon met his life-long partner, Jan de Rousseau.
