Founding
Triple Hazard Pay, Inc. is a relatively new corporation just opening it's doors for business for a second time in 823 AS. The corporation in its original incarnation was founded by a self-described magnificent lunatic named Ryan Melford along with several other various personalities that manifested themselves in a blaze of glory that was quickly extinguished by the gods of Sirius. He has since been vaporized or institutionalized, Sirius at large is not sure which as of yet, but in any case all involved can't seem to find him. The most important matter to address of their history is that they started off with a very unusual and disturbing plan, which is now a distant memory. As of May 823 AS, the new THP has a few small contracts and a few significant friends, and fully intends to become a more stable organization in what their leadership describes as the unstable and disturbing environment of modern day Sirius.
Current goals
Triple Hazard Pay is dedicated to helping those in Sirius who need, want, or have no access to items that may be out of their reach or too dangerous to get themselves.
They tend to focus on supplying installations in the Edge Worlds towards that end.
No Psychiatrist left behind!
To a man, all THP personnel are clinically insane. For some, it is simply a fact of life.
As Ryan Melford stated in a conversation with an incredibly bored Zoner regarding the failed attempt at establishing a foothold in Omicron Iota,
"At this point, it's a requirement (to be insane) to work here. We're going into an ugly system, a Bug, I mean Nomad system, a system hostile to life as we know it, and fully expect to power through to build and supply what amounts to a hunting lodge there. To begin with, (he gestures to the Magnificent Lunatic, scorch marks consistent with Nomad Cruiser Turrets on its hull) I get to deal with scary bugs bigger than my boat on a nigh-daily basis, and I love it. According to shrinks, I'm not supposed to love it or something. But it's fun anyway."
The "Everyone is crazy" line has even been extended to official documentation, with lines like "Everyone in Triple Hazard Pay has some kind of psychosis. It is part of the hiring process. The unique trials inherent with the types of contracts supplied require a natural gravitation toward danger and abnormal behavior."
The Great Disappearing Act
Unbeknownst to the general public, THP had only publicly dissolved. In actuality, most of its pilots migrated to the Lost Sector with an advanced Jump Drive. Then in mid-may 824 AS, a ship bearing THP papers returned amid no fanfare... but now they're back. Accounts given by the crew indicated that they ran out of Rum.
