History
The Vohn Rohe's day protests were the result of draconian restrictions to the labour protections of the Rheinlandic civilians in the years following the 80 years war, and the forced resignation of the populist monarch Kaiserin Leicht the First. A mixture of crippling debt, the outlawing of previously government sponsored trade Unions by the postwar interregnum, a forced reduction of fleet sizes, conspiracy theories that the interregnum government was in the pocket of Interspace creditors, the failure of basic public services and a relaxation of corporate restrictions over working conditions and pay lead to massive house-wide instability. Unifying both the revolutionary left, crown conservatives and working classes against the goverment, the Von Rohe's day riots are responsible for the fall of the Rheinland crown, the creation of the modern federal republic, and the birth of the Red Hessian movement.
Many of the organisations backing the Vohn Rohe's day revolution appeared to be have acting invidiously, with seperate goals and incentives. The Bundschuh appeared to have been acting towards the goal of instituting a social democracy, whilst the Unioner pirate cells profiteered from the protests in an attempt to restore the social programs of the 80 years war insituted under Kaiser Valentin. Many of the miners who became the Red Hessian movement appear to have been acting in the sole interests of improved institutional conditions, although pro Coalition radicalisers are suspected to have played a role in guiding their political aims.
The resulting Republic was, on paper, enough to quell the riots, although many of the oligarchic traits of the previous state. The Unioners remained outlawed for supplying arms to the resistance, and the Bundschuh only gained temporary legality. The Red Hessians continued to grow in size, heading out towards the Omegas to expand in power and militancy. In practice, Vohn Rohe's day represents the heyday of a unified Rheinlandic resistance front, that has continued to decay into mutual distrust in the centuries since.
Outcome
Temporary restoration of the Bundschuh to a legal position within the government. Abolition of the Rheinlandic monarchy. Creation of an oligarchic-federalist state. The Bundestag takes over from the Festung Fensalia as the seat of the state. The creation of the Red Hessian movement, now the largest non-Hispanic unlawful organisation in Sirius.
