Humboldt System

Humboldt is a remote system that has recently attracted the attention of the Liberty Rogues. The baron planet Bora Bora is the system's only notable satellite apart from the equally desolate Manaus Asteroid Field. The Liberty Rogues are believed to have established a hideout unknown to the authorities somewhere in the locality. Despite the system having no tactical advantage it remains an excellent corner of Liberty to conduct dealings of a sinister nature.

In recent years, the deposits of Copper and Silver in the Tefe and Careiro asteroid fields have drawn civilian mining vessels and corporate prospectors alike. Lane Hackers and Junkers have now become common sight preying on the unsuspecting miners which naturally has brought in the interest of the Bounty Hunters Guild; searching for wanted criminals that may be hiding out with the local Rogues.

Areas of interest

Asteroid Fields

Manaus Asteroid Field

Apart from the high density of Liberty Rogue ships in the area the asteroid field has little else to speak of in terms of value or interest. Initial prospecting probes returned to show no exploitable resources could be extracted.

Tefe Asteroid Field

Deposits of Copper have recently been discovered in the Tefe asteroid field but firms have yet to confirm it as a promising extraction propsect.

Careiro Asteroid Field

Traces of Silver have been detected within the Careiro asteroid field but no house firms have yet made a move to extract it.

Nebulae

Arcata Nebula

A relatively small field of dark matter in a remote area of the Humboldt system. While radiation is not strong in the field, sensors work very poorly, making the field a light navigational hazard. It's close proximity to one of the Humboldt stars discouraged most pilots from entering. No reliable charts of the nebula exist to his day, however it has been noted that nebula has intense static discharges within the cloud.
