I have an editing challenge for you good sir. Can you go through all of the ships and change Armor to Hull? Edit: We should probably check with Igiss about this...
- Behemoth - This has something weird on it. FLStats says it has 2 guns on it. The infocard data says it has 0 guns. Are you able to find out, or is that something you don't do?
Avenger, Chimaera, Collector, Decurion, Eagle, Executioner, Griffin, Guardian, Hussar, Hyena, Kushan, Liberator,Loki, Manta, Marsflyer, Nephthys, Nomad Assassin, Nomad Fighter, Nomad Light Fighter, Odin, Phantom, Raven's Talon, Rogue Gunboat, Sabre, Scimitar, Sea Serpent, Somtaaw, Starblazer, Stinger, Templar, Titan, Valkyrie, Viper, Virage, Werewolf, Wyrm, ---All these need at least the Categories: Ships link. I think they also need the Armor -> Hull as well. They need commas in various places. Some of them need correct formatting (RG).
My ship template] is the one I've been using.
Pages I've created that you might like to check the spelling and grammar etc...Behemoth, Arwing, Slipstream, Tiger Shark, Anubis, Armored Transport, Container Transport, Firefly, Gas Miners Guild Transport, Heavy Tanker

- Working on it now. Ships in linked category fixed. No idea about Behemoth's statistics. Forum question? If Igiss wants it changed he will let us know.
- I use http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php/Defender as my template. I think it's the best one to base things off.

Planet Manhattan
Capitalisation. Please undo your change on Manhattan. It's a title, hence it requires all first letters as caps. That is the standard I've used on all the pages I've made.
Edit: Well it supposed to be. I've just found some more that I haven't capsized ^.^ -.-

You mean you "Commodities Sold" instead of "Commodities sold"? I've done it, but it goes against all wikipedia policies of naming I know. :) Meh, maybe things are done differently here. *Continues work* Tumble-Weed (ComLink) (Holocron) 08:58, 28 May 2008 (GMT)
- No...it's probably just me. I might need to change the way I'm doing things...sigh. I don't know what the wiki conventions are. I do know my english rules for Capitalisation though. (Notice the British spelling as well?)

Yeah I did. Had to "z" things myself. Tumble-Weed (ComLink) (Holocron) 08:58, 28 May 2008 (GMT)

"Does it really need to have:"
" * Planet Manhattan, New York System, Liberty "
"Or can it just have:"
" * Planet Manhattan "
"Seriously. Tumble-Weed (ComLink) (Holocron) 08:02, 2 June 2008 (GMT)"

My reply
- (I'm guessing you are n00bl3t on the forums? I'm Hyung Soong. Hi! pleased to meet you. :) )
- Sorry about the "edit wars". I wasn't meaning to piss you off. I want to work with you, not against you. I'll give you a little spiel on my thoughts and maybe we can come to an agreement or at least an understanding. I feel we (wiki editors as a whole) need to have some guidelines on what to do. That way we won't get little conflicts like this happening. We need to come up with templates and everyone needs to use them, otherwise we get more unnecessary work.
- Firstly I want to apologies for undoing your link changes. It annoyed me that my hard work on the "Planet Manhattan, New York System, Liberty" and linking and stuff was changed so there was less useful info and links, but I should have talked to you about it first. I'm sorry about that.
- Secondly I'll comment on the above - Planet Manhattan - Commodities. I believe it needs all of those links because
- people who have never played Disco...or even Freelancer... (yes I have met people ingame who play Disco, who have never played Freelancer before) might come here. In fact isn't that why we are doing this? So it's a valuable resource with all the necessary information on the wiki, in one place? Useful for Veterans and new players?
- The commodities come from certain places. If I want to find out what other commodities are in New York, I, as a wiki user, don't want to have to go back a few pages, to find the categories to find the other place...etc.. get my drift? Having a central link (which is what the "Planet Manhattan, New York System, Liberty" is all about), makes it easier to navigate. Otherwise we end up with "Deadend" pages.
- Or if I want to find out general info about New York, or Liberty, that link is right there.
- I feel it is important to have as much info as possible available on the wiki. Having half info annoys me no end, because then I have to backtrack and try to find the other info. I prefer moving forward and going from links from where I currently am on the wiki.
- Thirdly - Wiki Conventions - I can't say that I know them, but IMHO a title looks better with the first letter of every noun or pronoun capitalised. For example...
New York System
Trade Lane and Jump Gate Parts
- I like
New York system
Trade lane and jump gate parts
- I don't like
- I'm willing to put in more work so that it's done once, and first letter capitalised, than to continually notice the caps that aren't there. I'm also quite happy to leave it as the second, as being consistent is more important. Which way are we doing titles? I'm automatically doing the first but can just as easily use the second.
- Fourthly - Infocard Data - I want a resolution to this one because I notice quite a few people adding their own things. Are we using the info card data as is written or are we modifying the info to better suit English? I am for the first, but can easily do the second. If we change what is in the info card we should also notify Igiss and Team as to the suggested corrections.
- Fifthly - American vs British Spelling - Personally I think we should be using the American spelling, but that is difficult for me. I've had American curriculum, but then went to university in New Zealand (which uses the British spelling.) I've continually been told all my life that "This way of spelling is wrong..." when it actually isn't, it's just not appropriate to use that way. So now I dont know whether to use tyre or tire - I try to adapt it to my audience, but sometimes I phail. I'm happy either way, but again we need to be consistent.
- So to cap off. Sorry about reversing your changes. I won't do it again without discussing it with you first. I'm trying to make this wiki the best it can be, not just some half finished job, so i AM being pedantic on many little things. Again, I won't change things without talking - (I'm just impatient to have it finished - there's a lot of work to be done. ;) ) I look forward to working with you.

Yeah, I have my forum account linked from my wiki user page. I am n00bl3t. I know who you are as well. :)
Firstly, It's all good. We have a response on that. Planet Manhattan, New York, Liberty is the way to go.
Secondly, some things don't need full info. We'll discuss them as we go.
Thirdly, I do know wiki conventions. I edit on wikipedia. I try to follow those because they are kind of locked into my head. I think we should follow them unless instructed otherwise by Igiss. I'll correct any articles that don't follow these conventions. I'm better at editing and formatting then at creating. So how about a deal? You make the articles, I'll edit them?
Fourthly, we will change the infocards to make more sense when read. Unless Igiss says otherwise.
Fifthly, we have to follow American spelling.
Capping off, I like to edit not create. I go around editing more than creating. So how about the aforementioned deal? Post a comment on my talk page with all the article's you've created and I'll Americanise and edit them. Keep the communication up.
:)

Great! Thirdly and fourthly - I think it would be a good idea to get Igiss ideas on wiki conventions vs what we've discussed here and on the infocard data. We have a lot of pages that might or might not need changes depending on his answer.
And maybe later you could show me some wiki conventions? Chovynz 03:18, 3 June 2008 (GMT)

There should be some other stuff as well. If I find it I'll put it up. Tumble-Weed (ComLink) (Holocron) 03:38, 3 June 2008 (GMT)
