Late in the Himalayan line's design cycle it became apparant to the IMG shipwrights that an answer to heavy capital vessels had to be found. The need was acute after Gallia was revealed. The solution chosen was a practical one: Mate a freighter-sized power core with a stripped down version of the Lhotse frame, and finetune the design afterward. While visually similar to the Lhotse, the Nanda Devi class bomber is anything but the same. With dual dedicated torpedo slots, a seperate cruise disruptor slot, and the ability to power freighter sized shields, the vessel is a small flying fortress that can do massive damage. It however does not maneuver well, and is vulnerable to enemy fighters and gunboats.

Pressed into service two months after the first prototype was completed, the Nanda Devi is an unproven design that IMG engineers believe shows considerable potential.
