History
Little is known of Erich Klugmann's history before his collegiate years, save that he was born to a relatively middle-class family (or what passes for "middle class" within Rheinland's polar divide between rich and poor. Erich's life appeared stable and happy; comfortable enough to ignore the plight of the downtrodden, but with much work to look forward to, to improve his own lot in life. Erich happily accepted this. "After all", he thought. "Kanzler will take care of me, and the entire glorious nation".
Enrolled as a top student at Cologne University on New Berlin, Erich's final thesis to graduate involved researching and compiling a report on the Terroristic movements of Rheinland, particularly the Bundschuh and Hessians. What was clearly expected to turn up as a glowing report on how the Heroic efforts of the Militär to quash the rebellion came to the professor's (And most blatantly, Erich's) surprise when his thesis contained a scathing account on the Kanzler's efforts to stymie free speech and free thought. Thus evidenced by Erich's expelling from Cologne and subsequent questioning of his parents by the BDM, he quietly packed his bags without informing his parents where he was going, and vanished.
Some time later, he resurfaced again, a rather different individual. Klugmann was next seen as the head of a raid against Daumann vessels upon the Trade Lane west of Bonn Station. He had risen to considerable rank amongst the Bundschuh from reasons as of yet unknown. A short time after this, Klugmann joined with the Rheinländische Volksfreiheitspartei, a somewhat short-lived faction of the Bundschuh that for a time attempted to focus upon playing Liberty and Rheinland off one another. When his fellow members' vessels became quiet, Erich for a time commanded the Party solo, venturing all around Rheinland space to attempt to garner donations, spread his voice, and assist fellow revolutionary movements however he could.
As of 818 A.S., Erich now has consolidated what power the RV possessed into the Vereinigten Widerstandsarmee.
Personality
Erich is, above all other things, an intellectual. He possesses a quiet and solemn demeanor except as necessary to sway others to his point of view. Presenting a civil and cordial demeanor at most times even towards Rheinland lawfuls, he is notably slow to anger. Many Corporate pilots and Freelance traders that Erich had stopped along the lanes perhaps breathed something of a sigh of relief knowing that he unusually enough never assaults their vessels.
Erich's personal code of honor prevents him from opening fire upon any vessel, whether Corporate or Military, unless he is attacked first. While perhaps inconvenient for garnering donations from passerby on the Lanes, Erich sees his conviction towards maintaining peacefulness a powerful asset towards individuals whose loyalties may be on the fence, to be drawn over to his side.
The above stated, Erich holds no qualms about engaging in a battle already in progress between Lawfuls and Revolutionaries, assaulting non-revolutionary pirates tresspassing within Rheinland's space, or Hispanians of any faction.
