| description = Most scholars date the start of the group as the publication of Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom in 642 A.S. The author, Yuyu Matsuda, was a young but critically acclaimed poet. Charismatic and well-spoken, Matsuda had a considerable following among young Kusari women who found their lives lacking in direction but were reluctant to become married and fulfil their traditional role in Kusari society.
+
| description = Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge. This system is patrolled by the Bretonian Armed Forces, and occassional patrols from the Red Hessians and Corsairs can be sighted as well. Four bases have been established in this system, with one of them being a Zoner Freeport. The Freeport, Aland Shipyard and the jump gates to Cambridge and Omega-7 are connected by tradelanes.

Yuyu decried what she saw as the corruption of the Kusari male-dominated culture and preached a revolution led by the long-suffering women of Kusari. These ideas were eventually encapsulated in Golden Chrysanthemum in Bloom, in which Matsuda described a fictitious nation called Yomi. A place of fat, lazy male bureaucrats who handed out concessions at the whim of entrenched mega-corporations, Yomi was eventually engulfed in revolution and united under the rule of a benevolent Empress personally selected by the goddess Amaterasu to watch over her people.

Matsuda looked to the foreigners as a model, where women could be president and run corporations. The Chrysanthemum went on to become a best-seller. Unfortunately, in 648 A.S., Matsuda crossed the dangerous line between ideas and actions when she was implicated in the botched assassination attempt of the planetary governor of Kyushu. Rather than face the ignominy of imprisonment, Matsuda chose ritual suicide instead. An increase in attacks on government personnel and installations followedsoon after.

<div style="float: right; margin-right: 4em;">Cross-Vandermeer Comet</div>
 +
: A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.

: GRAHAM ICE FIELD

Unfortunately, any attempts to locate the Golden Chrysanthemum base or learn more about their organization has been thwarted by their willingness to die rather than talk. A Golden C. pilot will trigger her ship's self-destruction rather than be captured, and suicide attacks are common. Attempts to infiltrate the Golden C. have proven equally fruitless, due to the rituals, security measures and Cardamine addiction required to become a fully fledged member. On several occasions the Kusari government has received the finger of an undercover agent wrapped in a page from one of Matsuda's books.

Freeport 1
 +
: Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems. It was the first ever Freeport to be constructed, as the name clearly states, and it quickly gained popularity with the criminals, outlaws and others of a dubious disposition as a place to easily obtain supplies and repair their ships. Most of the criminals who visit Freeport 1 tend to be members of the Mollys or the Corsairs, although the occasional Red Hessian and Gaian are seen onboard.

The Kusari State Police tries to keep a watchful eye on the faction, but has been unable to curb their activities with any real success. This is somewhat due to the assistance of the Blood Dragons, who have made use of Ainu Depot as a rest stop on the long journey to the inner systems of Kusari. The Blood Dragons also share the group's desire to overthrow the government and reform House Kusari, although this may eventually lead to an ideological conflict between the two groups, as the Blood Dragons may not concede to all the social reforms that the Golden Chrysanthemums will insist upon.
+
: Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as. Small ships are known to be constructed here, sold to both freelancers, criminals and other zoners, and although Bretonia has made irritated noises towards the Freeport, they have as yet left it alone, preferring to put up with the annoyance of criminals docking there to the unknown consequences that might otherwise occur by antagonising the largely peaceful Zoner society.

Rugen Station
 +
: Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.

Aland Shipyard
 +
: A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild. Guild used unoccupied space between two trade lanes to construct their first shipyard capable of building and maintaining large vessels. Additionally, the building site attracted a number of refugees from Holman, South Shields and Hood who were seeking for jobs and safer places to stay. Now, Aland Shipyard has become home for over a thousand Independent Miners who came here from Bretonia and Omega Border Worlds.

: Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

<div style="float: right; margin-right: 4em;">Hydrocarbons</div>
 +
: Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications. While hydrocarbons naturally occur in a gaseous state almost everywhere in the known universe, frozen deposits present the most easily exploited form of the substance. Hydrocarbon mining is key to the industrialization of the Sirius Sector as it provides the raw materials for the creation of the Ship Hull Panels and Optronics, upon which modern society depends.

<div style="float: right; margin-right: 4em;">Cobalt Ore</div>
 +
: Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.

Originally, the Golden Chrysanthemums were never as well armed as the Blood Dragons nor as influential as the Hogosha, and were more of an irritant to the government than an actual threat. In recent years however, especially in the wake of the war against Bretonia, greater amounts of funding from the increased popularity of Cardamine, and recruits from the dissatisfied younger elements of Kusari society, have flooded into the organisation. The Golden Chrysanthemums have grown to potentially rival the paramilitary power of the Blood Dragons, both in technology and in the quality of pilots, although due to their radical ideas they still lack the considerable political influence that the Blood Dragons secretly wield within elements of the Kusari government.

Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge.

Planetary Objects

Planet Sprague

No description available.
Planet Sprague

Location: D/5
Diameter: 7,053 km.
Mass: 10.98 x 10e23 kg.
Terrain: Desert.
Temperature: -71°C to 70°C
Escape Velocity: 13.57 km/sec

Solar Anomolies

Omega-3 Anomoly

Unknown. No further data available.
Omega-3 Anomoly

Location: C/5

Nebulae & Asteroids

Cross-Vandermeer Comet

Cross-Vandermeer Comet
A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.
Location: E/5, E/5

Roth Asteroid Field

Roth Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The Daumann Polymer and Hydrocarbon operation of Ruegen has been plagued by repeated Red Hessian attacks.
Location: F/6

Coombe Asteroid Field

Coombe Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The second Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) Polymer production facility is located here on Douglas Station, though attacks by Corsairs have required BMM to substantially increase security.
Location: E/7

Burgess Ice Field

Burgess Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Freeport 1 is located near the inner edge of the field, and will sell its excess supplies to anyone without prejudice -- including Corsairs, who frequent the area.
Location: C/3

Wilkes Ice Field

Wilkes Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Often used as cover by Red Hessian pirates to attack Trade Lane traffic passing through the area.
Location: F/4

Graham Ice Cloud

Graham Ice Cloud
GRAHAM ICE FIELD
A medium-sized cloud of ice asteroids. Corsairs can sometimes be spotted in the cloud on their way to attack transport ships on the Trade Lanes.
Location: B/5

Space Stations

Freeport 1

Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems.
Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as.

Owner Faction: Zoners
Location: C/4
Class: Dern
Gravity: Complete
Docking: Yes
Amenities: Yes
Population: 2K

Rugen Station

Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.
Rugen Station

Owner Faction: Daumann Heavy Construction
Location: F/6
Class: Abbey
Gravity: Partial
Docking: Yes
Amenities: Limited
Population: 250

Douglas Station

Douglas Station is owned and operated by Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials in the system. Security around the facility is abnormally high due to frequent skirmishes with Corsairs.

Owner Faction: Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing
Location: D/6

Population: 450

Aland Shipyard

A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild. Guild used unoccupied space between two trade lanes to construct their first shipyard capable of building and maintaining large vessels. Additionally, the building site attracted a number of refugees from Holman, South Shields and Hood who were seeking for jobs and safer places to stay. Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

Hydrocarbons
Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications.

Cobalt Ore
Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.
