| description = The Edinburgh system, also known for being one of the few remaining systems not affected by the Bretonian industries, is a small piece of paradise within Bretonia. The system is relatively young, with several terrestrial planets and two medium sized red-colored nebulas situated on the northern and southern part of the system, an interesting factor of this system is that Edinburgh is the only binary system within Bretonia, due to the system's two twin white dwarfs.
+
| description = Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge. This system is patrolled by the Bretonian Armed Forces, and occassional patrols from the Red Hessians and Corsairs can be sighted as well. Four bases have been established in this system, with one of them being a Zoner Freeport. The Freeport, Aland Shipyard and the jump gates to Cambridge and Omega-7 are connected by tradelanes.

The only planet that was ever considered for settlement on behalf of Bretonia, was Planet Gaia, but some personnel onboard Cambridge Research Station were contrary to see another system being polluted by the Bretonian industry complex. A small group of these scientists will be later known for founding the Gaians, an unlawful movement with only one simple goal, defending Planet Gaia, with deadly force.

Several efforts made by the Bretonian complex of Planetform, operating out from Perth Station, are undergoing the terraformation process of Planet Ayr. But the presence of the gaians have becoming a serious threat to this project, especially the actions from a splinter cell of the gaians, Nature's Last Hope.

In order to counter the presence of the gaians within the system, the Bretonian parliament decided to contruct a Bretonia Police Authority station next to the jump gate leading to Edinburgh. Police forces are operating out from it, often making patrols within the southern nebula, in which Gaian controlled Islay Base is located.

: Gaia is a tropical paradise -- a rich, green world of plants and animals -- the likes of which have not been found anywhere else in the Sirius Sector. Until its potential treasure trove of genetic material can be better understood, however, Gaia has been placed under the control of the Cambridge Research Institute, although with the Gallic Navy having invaded the system, that control is in name only. The Gallic Navy has thus far shown little interest in the surface of Gaia, although it has placed a few satelites in orbit to chart the planet in detail.

: Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems. It was the first ever Freeport to be constructed, as the name clearly states, and it quickly gained popularity with the criminals, outlaws and others of a dubious disposition as a place to easily obtain supplies and repair their ships. Most of the criminals who visit Freeport 1 tend to be members of the Mollys or the Corsairs, although the occasional Red Hessian and Gaian are seen onboard.
: Stationed in the north of the Edinburgh system, Battleship Castres is tasked with securing the supply line from and to the Lewis system, and defending against flanking strikes from the Dundee system.

Islay Base
<div style="float: right; margin-right: 5%;">Islay Base</div>

: Soon after tourists began to arrive in Edinburgh in 690 AS, Cambridge scientists voiced their concern over the enormous ecological damage that even the most regulated visits could inflict on the planet. Almost from birth Cambridgers had drilled into them the stories of how New London and Leeds were blighted, so they tended to be very environmentally sensitive. A few of the younger and more militant scientists studying Planet Gaia actually went so far as to begin a campaign to sabotage tourist transports in an effort to discourage visits, but with little effect.

: Once Cobalt was discovered on Gaia in 740, BMM began to make noises in New London about the need to establish a mining base there. What had been a quiet, bloodless campaign of active resistance blossomed into full-fledged conflict. Graffiti with slogans such as "GAIA WILL NOT BLEED" was spotted soon after. The eco-terrorist movement had begun.
+
: Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as. Small ships are known to be constructed here, sold to both freelancers, criminals and other zoners, and although Bretonia has made irritated noises towards the Freeport, they have as yet left it alone, preferring to put up with the annoyance of criminals docking there to the unknown consequences that might otherwise occur by antagonising the largely peaceful Zoner society.

+
{|style="background-color: transparent; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"
: Eventually any plans to mine the surface of Gaia were dropped -- mostly out of fear that it might cut into the burgeoning tourist industry -- but the Gaians had already broadened their horizons by an influx of radical elements from Cambridge who sought a ban on terraforming technologies. Planetform, Inc. was the natural target. What emerged was a militant terrorist group philosophically opposed to the exploitation of planets, and terraforming in particular. The group enjoyed considerable popular support on Cambridge, funded by the efforts of the legitimate arm of the Gaians called the Green Front.
+
|- style="vertical-align: top;"

+
| Freeport 1
: While the Gaians and the eco-terrorist movement as a whole have made little progress outside of Bretonian space, Green Front propaganda is a common sight in Bretonia. Green Front commentators are often present on the news, and unlike the Mollys, a certain amount of tolerance for them exists in the government from those disinclined to antagonize their Cambridge connections. Over the years, the movement has broadened considerably until the majority of its sympathizers are environmentally conscious individuals from throughout Bretonia.

: Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications. While hydrocarbons naturally occur in a gaseous state almost everywhere in the known universe, frozen deposits present the most easily exploited form of the substance. Hydrocarbon mining is key to the industrialization of the Sirius Sector as it provides the raw materials for the creation of the Ship Hull Panels and Optronics, upon which modern society depends.

: Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.

Omega-3 is a border world system located right next to Cambridge.

Nebulae & Asteroids

Cross-Vandermeer Comet

Cross-Vandermeer Comet
A very large comet, possibly a rogue planetoid, caught in the gravitational well of the Omega 3 star. Initial scans have revealed immense quantities of Cobalt locked under it's icy crust. Due to it's proximity to the star, the comet cannot be mined directly, but the star is slowly eroding the comet. The comet's tail contains small quantities, easily retrievable Cobalt.
Location: E/5, E/5

Roth Asteroid Field

Roth Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The Daumann Polymer and Hydrocarbon operation of Ruegen has been plagued by repeated Red Hessian attacks.
Location: F/6

Coombe Asteroid Field

Coombe Asteroid Field
A medium-sized field of mixed carbonaceous and ice asteroids. The second Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) Polymer production facility is located here on Douglas Station, though attacks by Corsairs have required BMM to substantially increase security.
Location: E/7

Burgess Ice Field

Burgess Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Freeport 1 is located near the inner edge of the field, and will sell its excess supplies to anyone without prejudice -- including Corsairs, who frequent the area.
Location: C/3

Wilkes Ice Field

Wilkes Ice Field
A medium-sized field of ice asteroids. Often used as cover by Red Hessian pirates to attack Trade Lane traffic passing through the area.
Location: F/4

Graham Ice Cloud

Graham Ice Cloud
GRAHAM ICE FIELD
A medium-sized cloud of ice asteroids. Corsairs can sometimes be spotted in the cloud on their way to attack transport ships on the Trade Lanes.
Location: B/5

Space Stations

Freeport 1

Freeport 1 was built in 738 A.S., by a group of vagrants, wanderers and social outcasts that had left territories of the Houses in order to live beyond the rules and regulations enforced in the core systems.
Over time, however, Freeport 1 has grown, with new cargo modules and habitation decks being constructed until the Freeport was barely recognisable from the small platform it started out as.

Rugen Station

Rugen Station was built by Daumann Heavy Construction for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials found in the system. While pirates are always a problem, Daumann's long-running rivalry with the neighboring Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) operation on Douglas Station has resulted in more than a few exchanges of weapons fire.

Douglas Station

Douglas Station is owned and operated by Bretonia Mining and Manufacturing (BMM) for the manufacturing of Polymers using the abundant raw materials in the system. Security around the facility is abnormally high due to frequent skirmishes with Corsairs.

Aland Shipyard

A large station within Wilkes Ice Field, Aland was built in 810-817 A.S. by the Independent Miners Guild. Guild used unoccupied space between two trade lanes to construct their first shipyard capable of building and maintaining large vessels. Additionally, the building site attracted a number of refugees from Holman, South Shields and Hood who were seeking for jobs and safer places to stay. Now, Aland Shipyard has become home for over a thousand Independent Miners who came here from Bretonia and Omega Border Worlds.

Water
Dihydrogen monoxide (H2O) is odorless, tasteless, transparent, and absolutely essential to human life. Roughly 75% of the human body is composed of Water. Deprived of Water, most humans can only live three days. The process of dehydration is a painful one, as tissues shrivel and vessels shrink in a desperate bid by the dying body to preserve its remaining vital functions.

Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons
Hydrocarbons are a class of organic compounds composed only of hydrogen and carbon molecules, resulting in a wide variety of substances that have important industrial applications.

Cobalt Ore

Cobalt Ore
Ore is a type of rock that contains minerals such as metals which can be extracted through mining and refined for use. The ores must be processed to extract the metals of interest from the waste rock and from the ore minerals. Many organizations prefer to receive unsmelted ores in order to keep the additional cost of their production and finish within the local economy, as opposed to paying markups to foreign laborers to do the work for them.
