Kirkwall is a secret Outcast installation built in 805 A.S. inside a large asteroid field. While Orkney system is not a part of any [[Cardamine]] routes, and is not within the scope of Outcasts' economical interests, Dons of Malta consider it worthy to maintain a presence not too far from a mysterious mine field that is very similar to one located in Outcasts' own [[Omicron-80]] system.
