Mecklenburg is a quickly-erected prefabricated firebase, administrated directly by the Rheinland Military. Everything aboard is what one would expect of the returning veterans of the Liberty War; weary but disciplined crew and pilots operating their rounds with expediency and efficiency. In addition to a full complement of several snubcraft squadrons, the station boasts a number of planetary shuttles and airspeeders to be dispatched for the use of the quickly-growing Hammersee colony.
The prefab base is presently only truly capable of supplying and repairing up to Gunboat-classed vessels effectively, but future planned additions to the station include a rudimentary drydock. This news comes hand-in-hand with the publicized discovery of the habitable Planet Saigon in a neighboring system, and the subsequent political tensions it poses the risk of forging between the Republic of Rheinland and the Empire of Kusari.
The drydock project has been repeatedly delayed by frequent hit-and-fade assaults on the station by both Corsair and Bundschuh pilots.
